Privacy Policy — Litany

Litany (“the app”) is developed by Esteban Feldman (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version
We don’t collect anything. The app has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. Everything you type and every ritual you track is stored on your phone, and we never see it.
Data we collect
None. Specifically:
- Your affirmation text, ritual progress, rep counts, and streaks are stored in a local database on your device. We never see this data, and the app never sends it to us — we have no server to send it to.
- No analytics. We don’t track how you use the app.
- No advertising. The app shows no ads.
- No sensitive permissions. The app never requests access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or any other device data unrelated to its core feature.
Permissions the app requests, and why

None of these permissions collect or transmit data. They exist only to deliver the reminder feature you configure and control.
Where your data can go
Your data only leaves your phone in these ways, and none of them send it to us:
- Android backup. If backup is turned on in your device settings, Android includes the app’s data in your device backup to your own Google account, so it can be restored on a new phone. This is handled by Google under your Google account settings, and you can turn it off there.
- Export. Settings > “Export data” creates a backup file and hands it to the share sheet. Where it goes from there (a file app, email, cloud storage) is your choice.
- Update checks. The app asks Google Play whether a newer version is available. No ritual data is included in that check.
Data deletion
Uninstalling the app deletes its data from your device. If Android backup was on, a copy may remain in your Google account’s device backup; you can delete it from your Google account’s backup settings. Any backup files you exported stay wherever you saved them. There is nothing to delete on our end, because we never had your data.
Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If we add a feature that does collect data — for example, crash reporting, usage analytics, or advertising — we will update this policy first, clearly describing what’s collected, why, and how you can control it, before that feature ships to users.
